SPEAKER: One dose doesn’t fit all – things we learned from the Omega-3 Index

Clemens has focused his research on aspects of cardiovascular prevention, such as omega-3 fatty acids, aspirin, ACE-inhibitors, diabetes and others (137 peer-reviewed publications in medline). Together with WS Harris, he invented and defined the Omega-3 Index, a standardised method for erythrocyte fatty acid analysis, now brand-marked “HS-Omega-3 Index®”, substantiated by >250 publications in international journals, and more than 50 ongoing research projects. He founded Omegametrix® in Martinsried, Germany, which measures the HS-Omega-3 Index. His work has been recognised by numerous awards including the award of the Global Organization for EPA and DHA (GOED) for global leadership in omega-3’s in 2016.
